Opal Care and Conservation Guide
Opals are delicate gems, sensitive to water and heat (Mohs scale: 5.5 - 6.5). Clean it only with a slightly damp microfiber cloth, never with ultrasonic cleaners or chemicals. Avoid sudden temperature changes and intense heat, do not submerge it in water and avoid contact with cosmetics, perfumes or acids. Store it in an individual case, away from direct sunlight and from harder gems that could scratch it.
